Mr. SD Shibulal co-founded Infosys (NASDAQ:INFY) in 1981 and led the company in different capacities since its inception. He was a member of the Board of Infosys and was its CEO & MD between 2011 and 2014. Amongst his innumerable achievements during his time at Infosys, he is especially proud of being instrumental in creating the Global Delivery Model which established a new standard for the delivery of outsourced IT services.
Shibu serves on several global leadership forums and advisory boards, and is a sought after speaker in many global events on economy and industry. He is a member of the WEF’s ‘Global Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals’. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Boston University.
He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Boston University and a master’s degree in physics from the University of Kerala.
Mr. Ganapathy Venugopal (VG) is Co-founder and CEO of Axilor Ventures.
Axilor Ventures is a platform for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. Through its programs which include Accelerator, Scale-up and Early Stage Funding, Axilor aims to support early stage entrepreneurs improve their odds of success in e-commerce, healthcare and clean-tech.
VG has over seventeen years of experience in the areas of strategy, finance and consulting. Prior to co-founding Axilor Ventures, VG was Head of Strategy & Planning at Infosys. VG serves on the boards of several companies. Ganapathy holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and a post graduate in management from IIM Lucknow.
Mr Senapathy “Kris” Gopalakrishnan served as the Vice-Chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and the chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys from 2007 to 2011. Kris is one of the co-founders of Infosys.
Recognized as a global business and technology thought leader, he was voted the top CEO (IT Services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives and selected as one of the winners of the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia in 2011. He also was selected to Thinkers 50, an elite list of global business thinkers, in 2009. He was elected president of India's apex industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2013-14, and served as one of the co-chairs of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014.
In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Mr. Gopalakrishnan the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honour.
Mr Gopalakrishnan serves on the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, is the Chairman for the Board of Governors of IIIT- Bangalore, and is on the Board of Trustees of Chennai Mathematical Institute.
Mr. Gopalakrishnan holds a master’s degrees in physics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Tarun Khanna is the ‘Jorge Paulo Lemann’professor at the Harvard Business School and Director of Harvard University’s South Asia Institute. His teaching and writings on entrepreneurship allow him to engage with college students, executives and politicians across the developing world and, increasingly, online. During his time on the Harvard faculty since 1993, he has served as the head of several courses on strategy, corporate governance, and international business.
Outside HBS, he serves on the boards of the global power company, AES Corporation, and India's largest microfinance firm, SKS Microfinance, along with several others in the financial services, energy, automotive, and life sciences sectors, and actively invests in and mentors startups across Asia and the Middle East. In 2007, he was nominated to be a Young Global Leader (under 40) by the World Economic Forum. In 2009, he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business.
Mr. SrinathBatni served as a member of the Board of Directors at Infosys from 2000 to 2014. Since he joined Infosys in June of 1992, he has held various positions from project management to heading key business units. As a Board member, he was responsible for delivery excellence across the company.
He was also a member of the Infosys Foundation Trust and the Employees Welfare Trust. During his tenure at Infosys, he served as a member of the Executive Council of NASSCOM helping the software industry in India. Mr. Srinathalso serves as a non-executive Board Member in Axiscades Ltd, an engineering product development company in the aerospace industry and Global Edge Software Ltd, a software product development company in the telecom industry.
Mr. Srinath received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Mysore University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He plays a key role at his alma mater - NIE, Mysore as the President of the Management Committee
Maggi leads Facilities and Administration at Axilor which includes operations and managing the Board. A livewire, she is the “go to person” for fixing facilities and administration related issues and in general, getting things done. She overseas external visitor management, security management, vendor management and overall Infrastructure management. She ensures 24/7 smooth operations and healthy functioning of the overall facility. She also manages large scale events (both internal and external) at Axilor. With over 14 years of work experience, she comes with rich experience in office administration and facilities management. Prior to joining Axilor, Maggi handled various roles in executive support and administration at Innovations Investment Management
Asutosh leads programs at Axilor. Asutosh is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. With nearly 13 years of experience, Asutosh has worked across several industries and industry verticals with deep exposure to Digital Payments, Telecom and Digital Media. He started his career at TVS Motor Company and then started his entrepreneurial journey, and did two startups, which were in the HR services and Gaming space. Subsequently he worked with OnMobile Global in product and marketing roles. In his last assignment, he was heading product and marketing for a digital payments company called TranServ (Udio) . He was responsible for product roadmap and business growth for TranServ’s fintech business. He was instrumental in setting up Udio's consumer business during his stint. Having handled multiple roles across varied domains and functions, he brings in an eclectic mix of skills and experiences which would be ideal for early stage companies.
Nandan is part of the early stage funding team at Axilor. He has 6 years of work experience across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Equity Trading. His responsibilities at Axilor include deal sourcing, investment evaluation, due diligence, transaction structuring and portfolio monitoring. Prior to Axilor, Nandan was an Associate in the investment banking team at Mosaic Capital, where he spearheaded execution activities for M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital Transactions across sectors such as Technology, Media, Entertainment, Education and Healthcare. Prior to Mosaic, he was with J P Morgan where he was a part of the Corporate Banking (Formerly Treasury Services) team in India. During his bachelor's degree, he completed a highly selective internship at Vijaya Bank as a part of their Treasury Equity Trading Desk. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Finance from the University of Cambridge, a course he completed on a full scholarship and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Bangalore University. He has also completed Investment Certifications from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments - London.
Nisha leads PR and outreach at Axilor. Nisha's PR experience spans over seven years. Prior to Axilor, Nisha worked as a communication consultant to marquee brands including Bosch, Bosch Power Tools, Narayana Health, ITC Foods, Embrace Innovations and many others at Edelman India and Perfect Relations. Nisha began her career with Infosys BPO and was part of the first batch of KPO recruits the Company hired. Nisha has a PGDBA with the Bangalore University and has completed her B.Com from St. Josephs College of Commerce, Bangalore.
Payal leads all the early stage funding activity at Axilor. Prior to Axilor, Payal led Acumen's business development efforts in India, managing fund raising and Acumen's India partner network. She was instrumental in launching their corporate partnership program and bringing on board the first corporate donor to support Acumen's India activities. During her tenure, she also served on the Steering Commitee of ANDE India, an industry body aiming to support the SGB ecosystem in the country. Prior to Acumen, she was part of Sequoia Capital's India team for a five year period, starting with the research team and then as part of the investment team. She began her career at McKinsey's India Knowledge Centre, supporting studies in the media & entertainment sector. Payal has completed her post-graduation from Symbiosis Centre for Management & HRD, Pune
Prachi leads Research and Partnerships at Axilor. She comes with 6 years’ experience across research, policy and consulting. In her last role as the Research Lead for Professor Nirmala Rao, she oversaw the empirical analysis included in her latest book Reshaping City Governance: London, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad.
Before that she was a Senior Associate in Janaagraha's Advocacy team which involved close policy work with the Government of India on urban policy reforms. She oversaw the execution of the ambitious Ward Quality Score which assessed the quality of infrastructure and services across Bangalore's 198 wards. She also authored the first ever case study series to be taken up by LBSNAA for training of senior IAS officers.
She started her career with McKinsey Knowledge Centre supporting projects spanning industry, government and the social sector.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian School of Business (ISB), a Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade from University of Pune and a bachelors in Economic from Fergusson College, Pune.
Udhay leads the Accelerator program at Axilor, ensuring that entrepreneurs improve their chances of success. Udhay is a veteran of the technology and entrepreneurship scene, having helped found his first entrepreneurial venture straight out of college in 1991. Since then, he has been part of various pioneering ventures, including (among other things) India's first web site company (in 1995), and India's first startup to get silicon valley venture capital funding (in 1999). He helped build the backend that powered Yahoo!'s first social media network (before Facebook existed) and was recently helping Intel build new products for the Indian consumer. He spends much of his time helping start-ups of various kinds further refine their product and strategy. Recently, he helped found the 'unconference' styled event, The Goa Project, which aims to bring interesting people of all types together to learn and collaborate.
